Blai Llopis was born in Ciutadella (Menorca). In 1976 he began his acting studies at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and in 1979 he graduated in Dramatic Art. From the first course he joined the company of Teatre Lliure (1976-1994), always combining the work of actor with stage preparation (courses, seminars, singing lessons, etc.). In theater he has performed in numerous plays by Shakespeare, Goldoni, Brecht, Txèkhov, etc.
As a film actor he has participated in many films, among which the most outstanding are Llums i ombres by Jaime Camino, El pont de Varsòvia by Pere Portabella, Los jinetes del alba by Vicente Aranda, El llarg hivern by Jaime Camino, El amante bilingüe by Vicente Aranda, Cròniques de la veritat oculta. Pedagogia aplicada (Pere Calders) by Agustí Villaronga, El mar (Blai Bonet) by Agustí Villaronga, La nit que va morir l’Elvis by Oriol Ferrer and [Rec] Génesis by Paco Plaza. He has also conducted courses in directing and performance for actors and has participated in well-known TV series such as Estació d’enllaç, Ventdelplà, Cuéntame cómo pasó ,Crematorio, Águila Roja, Carlos, rey emperador, El Anell, La Fossa,Llàgrima de sang, etc.
